Honoring Ida B. Wells

Ida B. Wells (1862–1931) was born enslaved in Holly Springs, Mississippi. A teacher, journalist, and co-owner of the Memphis Free Speech, she led a courageous anti-lynching crusade, documenting injustice with data and facts. She helped found the NAACP, organized for women’s suffrage, and built community institutions in Chicago. In 2020 she was awarded a posthumous Pulitzer Prize. Ida reminds us that honest business and honest words build trust.
